Textual vaccination has begun.
This is a story of a postmodern dweller carefully surviving within the rules of modernity, only to have what they cherished destroyed by those very rules.
In this world that appears on the surface to be an agnostic chaos, every individual is in fact quite precisely situated within a system.
The systems, in turn, and their relationships to the whole, each occupy their proper place as well.
The moment a person steps even one step away from their assigned position—even for an instant—they risk losing that position forever.
Like this girl who ascended to godhood by recklessly becoming a Demon King—before a world deemed immutable, she may have been, and in fact was, cast out by that very world.
What she saved was not the world of grand narratives, but the world of the "self" that modern people have lost.
Works are shaped by their audience, and the audience is in turn influenced by the works. Even a work that appears to defy its audience does so only because the audience desires that very defiance.
After all, you and I are but mortals, still trapped and immobile in this cage disguised as new weird fiction—every soul among us is fraught with hardship.
And so, in the end, a creation like this has come to be—please, do enjoy it!

SCP-CN-2504,“Skudl”
Special Containment Procedures:Due to the nature of SCP-CN-2504, it is only partially contained. For details, please refer to the Containment Protocols for Reality-Altering Entity Projects1 and the Containment Standards for Metanarrative Entity Projects2.
Description:SCP-CN-2504 is a humanoid entity possessing reality-altering capabilities. In view of the high concentration of Akiva radiation exhibited by SCP-CN-2504, as well as the degree of deviation from baseline reality it has inflicted upon current reality, SCP-CN-2504 is confirmed to be a Class-V reality bender. Furthermore, SCP-CN-2504 exerts an active and aggressive anomalous influence on the existential reality pertaining to the Foundation itself, resulting in frequent rewrites of records related to SCP-CN-2504, including this document.
All unaltered information regarding SCP-CN-2504 is as follows:
- SCP-CN-2504, born Xiao █ Xi, female, date of birth 199█/0█/██. Her reality-altering abilities first manifested at the age of 14, but went unnoticed by all, including the subject herself.
- Prior to learning of the actual existence of the SCP Foundation, SCP-CN-2504 was already an avid creator of literary and artistic works under the pseudonym "Skuld." Her creations included, but were not limited to, New Weird fiction, rock music performed by vocal synthesis software, fan art, and promotional videos (PVs).
- On July 12, 2007, SCP-CN-2504 viewed a work titled "SCP-173" and inadvertently used her own abilities to create the existential reality of the SCP Foundation and its related GOIs.
SCP-CN-2504 was discovered on 201█/0█/██. By this time, the subject had already graduated from school, and the style of her creative works had shifted toward overt satire of reality and philosophical reflection. The Akiva radiation left behind in the works she published online (hereinafter referred to as SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ) drew the attention of the Foundation. Foundation research indicated that these creations exerted only a weak distortion on current reality and did not affect baseline reality. However, under the research of Dr. Desiree, it was discovered that all SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ contained a special thaumaturgical ritual integrated with metanarrative elements, which could grant access to a pocket dimension. The Foundation thus began to place greater emphasis on SCP-CN-2504's reality-altering abilities.
On 2022/05/██, SCP-CN-2504 located the Pataphysics research group at Site-CN-██ through unknown means, demonstrating that she had long been aware of the actual existence of the SCP Foundation and related GOIs, and requested that the Foundation contain her. However, because SCP-CN-2504 did not approve of the Foundation's containment strategies and persistently resisted containment efforts, the Foundation resorted to mandatory containment measures. This action caused SCP-CN-2504 to develop a destructive inclination toward the very existence of the SCP Foundation, and further enhanced her awareness and control over the essence of her own nature, enabling her to alter reality to remove or neutralize any threat to herself or her freedom of movement. As a result, all attempts to contain SCP-CN-2504 have ended in failure.
To avoid a potential HK-Class Deific Subjugation Scenario, the Foundation shifted its operational focus, adopting as its primary containment measure the mitigation of damage caused by SCP-CN-2504 and the reduction of her hostility toward the SCP Foundation and related GOIs, rather than pursuing forcible and total containment. Dr. Desiree, a researcher from the Foundation's Pataphysics Department, has been assigned as the primary liaison for SCP-CN-2504.
Addendum 2504:

……
As a friend of mine once put it, "The modern playwright has assigned everyone their place." So too do the many apex-type multifunctional entities observed by the Foundation possess, within this narrative, the very function of "being placed in their positions."
Does their divinity allow them to perceive this? Well, perhaps the vast majority of such beings are indeed capable of such awareness—yet they remain powerless to overturn this fact. For when they are stripped of their "divine" station, they will inevitably fall from their pedestals as well.
Thus, by virtue of the narrative's existence, the absurd spectacle of "divine right granted by the mortal author" comes into being—these entities, much like mid-level managers, appear glorious and formidable on the surface, yet are nonetheless trapped within the cage of narrative structure, facing utter erasure should they overstep.
Can the Foundation then wield this sword of Damocles?
I believe the answer is yes.
And in the following chapter, I shall outline the method.

SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ1 is the first music video created by SCP-CN-2504, titled Bitter Chocolate Dependency. It tells the story of a girl who develops a fondness for dark chocolate, gradually indulging this hobby to the point of morbid obsession, and ultimately melts away alongside the chocolate under the sunlight.
[Recording Begins]
**Dr. Desiree: **Phew... Still feeling a bit dizzy...
**Dr. Desiree: **Let me adjust the camera first.
The camera refocuses. The footage shows Dr. Desiree standing in a modern city with distorted saturation, while the adjacent intersection is covered in melted chocolate.
**Dr. Desiree: **Classic—modern discipline and inflated desire. For that girl's first work, this is already a pretty decent metaphor. But before that—
Dr. Desiree performs a thaumaturgical ritual to isolate contamination, then pulls a humanoid figure out from beneath the fluid chocolate.
**Dr. Desiree: **Wait, there's a person here?
**SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA: **Ah... Thank you, big sister!
A female child humanoid, with liquid chocolate continuously dripping from her body, stands before Dr. Desiree.
**Dr. Desiree: **Can you tell me your name?
**SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA: **Xiao Ruixi!
(This name has been verified as SCP-CN-2504's real name.)
**Dr. Desiree: **Ah... And how old are you?
**SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA: **Seven! Big sister, I want some chocolate—can you give me some?
**Dr. Desiree: **Chocolate... Isn't there plenty of it here?
**SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA: **No... This is all dark chocolate. I want something sweeter!
**Dr. Desiree: **Hmm... Big sister has rules—can't just give snacks to kids, you know.
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA shows signs of disappointment.
**SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA: **Mom's the same—she won't give me sweet chocolate either. Every time I ask for candy, she only gives me dark chocolate. But dark chocolate doesn't taste good at all...
**SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA: **Mom says it's for my own good... She doesn't want me eating too many sweets.
**Dr. Desiree: **What a lousy excuse. Alright, I'll break the rules just this once—but don't tell anyone, okay...
Dr. Desiree pulls a chocolate bar from her pocket.
**SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA: **Wow! Thank you, big sister!
After receiving the chocolate bar from Dr. Desiree, SCP-CN-2504-ᚩA reverts to a fluid chocolate state and dissolves back into the surrounding chocolate.
**Dr. Desiree: **If this is one of the subject's few memories... then is this world the materialization of her creative thought? I'd better try to communicate directly with the subject... Though I'm not sure if she's hostile.
**Dr. Desiree: **Still, I get the feeling that someone who can create works like this probably isn't hostile.
Dr. Desiree redraws the ritual circle and exits the dimension.

**Note: **This video file documents the initial contact with SCP-CN-2504.
[Recording Begins]
Dr. Desiree is napping at her desk.
**SCP-CN-2504: **Boss, your delivery is here.
SCP-CN-2504 places the takeout on Dr. Desiree's desk. Dr. Desiree wakes with a start.
**Dr. Desiree: **Yeah, just leave it there—wait, how did you get in?
**SCP-CN-2504: **Enjoy your meal~
Dr. Desiree grabs SCP-CN-2504 by the arm.
**Dr. Desiree: **Don't go. You just brought up the delivery that was left at the door, didn't you? If you don't explain how you got in, I'm pressing the alarm button under my desk.
**SCP-CN-2504: **Sigh... I know, I know. This is SCP Foundation Site-CN-██, and you're Desiree from the Pataphysics research group... right?
**SCP-CN-2504: **I'm here to request containment... Just contain me, alright?
**Dr. Desiree: **...Let me contact my department head first.
SCP-CN-2504 shows an impatient expression.
**SCP-CN-2504: **Oh for fuck's sake, why does this goddamn Foundation have to pull this kind of shit too? Look, lady, is containing me really that much trouble? Just go through the motions, fill out a project form, and be done with it!
Dr. Desiree presses the site alarm button while still communicating with her superior, ignoring SCP-CN-2504.
**SCP-CN-2504: **Ah, one more delivery left—hang on.
SCP-CN-2504 vanishes.
**Dr. Desiree: **—The subject has demonstrated properties of at least a Class-III reality bender. Get someone here now!
Five minutes later, SCP-CN-2504 reappears before Dr. Desiree.
**Dr. Desiree: **What did you do?
**SCP-CN-2504: **The last delivery? I couldn't ride my motorcycle, so I just used my abilities a little to make the drop. Oh, don't worry—I've already turned off orders for today. That really was the last one.
Dr. Desiree looks at SCP-CN-2504 with a bewildered expression.
**Dr. Desiree: **...Why did you come to us?
**SCP-CN-2504: **Alright, alright, I'll start from the beginning. Honestly, I already knew you guys really existed back when you were secretly poking around my works—but I didn't think much of it.
**SCP-CN-2504: **It's just that this morning, I found someone had stripped parts off my motorcycle. By the time I got to it, the thief was already gone. And then... well, in that moment, it was like I gained a bird's-eye view of the world, watching all those people rushing about down below, and suddenly—
**SCP-CN-2504: **I just felt like life was meaningless. Might as well let you guys contain me.
**Dr. Desiree: **...That's it?
**SCP-CN-2504: **That's it.
Dr. Desiree lets out a long sigh.
**Dr. Desiree: **Fine. I'll process your paperwork in a bit, but you'll need to stay in our containment chamber for a while and undergo a physical examination first.
**SCP-CN-2504: **Yay~

SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ2 is the music video for the song At the Bottom of the Panopticon, created by SCP-CN-2504. It tells the story of a protagonist confined to a panopticon prison based on Jeremy Bentham's design, who attempts to escape but is driven mad by the glare reflecting off the central watchtower.
[Recording Begins]
Dr. Desiree: Same routine—adjusting focus first...
After the camera refocuses, the footage shows Dr. Desiree standing in the outer corridor of the panopticon depicted in the MV. The nearby cells contain only black mannequins in orange jumpsuits, each in a different pose. Notably, the uniforms are identical to the standard attire of SCP Foundation D-Class personnel.
Dr. Desiree: Moving beyond personal experience... and starting to draw on established references. A fairly common trajectory for a creator's growth. Still, each piece offers too little material to deeply analyze the subject's psyche.
Dr. Desiree: Hmm? Over there—is that a living person?
Dr. Desiree rushes to the other end of the corridor.
The footage shows a younger female minor, resembling SCP-CN-2504, confined in a cell before Dr. Desiree, wearing the same standard-issue prison uniform as the mannequins in the other cells.
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: Ha, look who's here.
Dr. Desiree: Do you know me?
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: Of course I don't know you, but I know you're a Foundation lackey!
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB becomes agitated.
Dr. Desiree: ...Calm down. I mean you no harm. Look at me—I'm unarmed.
Dr. Desiree raises her hands.
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: Of course you're unarmed! You're a thaumaturge! Your Foundation has locked up thousands of people like me, just to use us as test subjects for what you call "anomalous objects"—those murderous toys! You've collected over two thousand anomalies and you just—
Dr. Desiree: Wait. How many anomalies did you say?
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: Huh? How many? Over two thousand—nearly three thousand!
Dr. Desiree: Ah... I see. Tell you what—I'll let you out, but only if you don't attack me. Deal?
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB does not respond, merely staring intently at Dr. Desiree.
Dr. Desiree: Alright, alright. Let me open the door for you.
Dr. Desiree applies a thaumaturgical unlocking spell to the iron door confining SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB. The door swings open.
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: You seem completely different from the rest of the Foundation.
Dr. Desiree: I don't exactly agree with the Foundation's attitude toward anomalous individuals either, you know. It's a bit too... dehumanizing.
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB steps out of her cell.
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: Exactly! They don't respect people at all! Just like my teachers and parents—always trying to control me, keeping me like a prisoner here, never letting me be special!
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: They're always watching me too—ugh, they even monitor every sip of water I take! Damn it... Anyway, thank you. I can finally escape from this place!
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB vaults over the corridor railing and lands unharmed on the ground below.
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB: Once I get into the tunnel under that tower, I'll be free! Hahahaha—
SCP-CN-2504-ᚩB's voice fades into the distance.
Dr. Desiree: Though it's just a phantom... I'm starting to understand why she creates works like this.
Dr. Desiree: The repression of her school years drove her to escape into the SCP Foundation... but the SCP Foundation didn't turn out to be the refuge she'd hoped for.
Dr. Desiree: Still, why the turn toward nihilism... Hmm... Could she have been exposed to something?
Dr. Desiree: Oh, and I should warn her to stop writing thaumaturgical music—otherwise our screening team will never keep up.

Note: This video file documents the first communication following the containment of SCP-CN-2504. The Site-CN-██ disappearance event that occurred during this exchange was not recorded by any other Foundation equipment; it is presumed that the subject utilized her abilities to rewrite the narrative. As such, this sole recording is archived for preservation only.
[Recording Begins]
Dr. Desiree: Did you sleep well, SCP-CN-2504?
SCP-CN-2504 shows signs of displeasure.
SCP-CN-2504: ...
SCP-CN-2504: Even if I said "no," it wouldn't change anything. Whatever.
SCP-CN-2504 attempts to leave her seat.
Dr. Desiree: Don't worry about that—since you came in voluntarily, we can allow some... tacit flexibility in the rules for cooperative subjects.
SCP-CN-2504 sits back down.
SCP-CN-2504: Ah... That's not what I meant. Where's my mom?
Dr. Desiree: We—
SCP-CN-2504: —If you say anything about "memory deletion," I'll smash that VR headset off your face right now.
Dr. Desiree: ...Sigh.
SCP-CN-2504: You might as well tell them I'm doing time. Your Foundation's facility isn't much different from a maximum-security prison cell anyway—hell, it even reminds me of the psych ward I used to stay in.
Dr. Desiree: You've been... in a psych ward?
SCP-CN-2504 waves her hand dismissively.
SCP-CN-2504: Don't talk about that. My head starts hurting whenever it comes up.
Dr. Desiree: Next question, SCP-CN-2504—when did you start creating...
SCP-CN-2504 glances around distractedly.
SCP-CN-2504: What's that buzzing thing outside? Reality anchors? Sounds like at least seven or eight of them.
Dr. Desiree: Correct.
SCP-CN-2504: Ha... Quite the investment. All that just because I'm a... reality bender?
Dr. Desiree: Please answer my question first.
SCP-CN-2504: What if I don't? Oh, I'm sure the remote for those anchors is either with you or whoever's watching us from behind that glass.
SCP-CN-2504: Tell you what—I'm sick of being cooped up in this fifty-square-meter box. Even prisons have yard time, don't they?
SCP-CN-2504 claps her hands. At this moment, the CCTV monitors in the room show both the subject and Dr. Desiree vanishing into thin air.
Footage from Dr. Desiree's small camera shows the two arriving in a blank, infinitely extending dimension, suspected to be related to SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ.
SCP-CN-2504: Hmm... What kind of world do you want?
Dr. Desiree stares at SCP-CN-2504.
SCP-CN-2504: Ah, don't worry—I'm not going to attack you.
Dr. Desiree continues staring at SCP-CN-2504.
SCP-CN-2504: Sigh... Alright. Where are you from?
Dr. Desiree: Japan.
SCP-CN-2504: Your Mandarin is really good, then. How'd you end up in China?
Dr. Desiree: ...Personnel transfer.
SCP-CN-2504: Come on. With the reality anchors in that room, you could fool me. But here? How are you going to fool me now?
Dr. Desiree: What do you know?
SCP-CN-2504: Everything... including that you miss home just as much as I do.
The camera shows SCP-CN-2504 reshaping the dimension into a fictional rural Japanese mountain village. The two stand beneath a power pole beside a main road through the farmland.
Dr. Desiree: ...Tono City, Iwate Prefecture—that's where I was born. But my father's job transferred us to China when I was in middle school, and I've been here ever since.
SCP-CN-2504: See? What a coincidence. My hometown is Shuangcheng in Heilongjiang. After my father moved us to Jiangsu, he passed away, leaving just my mom and me to struggle in a strange city.
SCP-CN-2504: So why work for the Foundation? Is it because you have nowhere else to go now?
Dr. Desiree: ...That's none of your business, SCP-CN-2504.
SCP-CN-2504: Fine, fine, none of my business... Oh well.
The camera shows SCP-CN-2504 bringing the two back to baseline reality, and within seconds, erases all trace of Site-CN-██'s existence.
SCP-CN-2504: There. That should do it. I really don't like the Foundation's way of doing things... At least give people some personal freedom.
SCP-CN-2504: And next time, use better reality anchors.
Dr. Desiree: What are you... doing?
SCP-CN-2504: I deleted Site-CN-██, and then... well, I guess we all go home?
Dr. Desiree: That's enough!
Dr. Desiree walks toward the subject in anger and slaps her across the face.
Dr. Desiree: Do I have to tell you that I was an orphan contained by the Foundation for you to realize how important the Foundation is to me?!
Dr. Desiree: You came in asking to be contained, then refuse to follow the rules, and—and you just casually delete an entire site! Do you really think your whimsical freedom comes with no responsibility at all?!
SCP-CN-2504 freezes in place. The footage then shows both of them back in the humanoid containment chamber at Site-CN-██.
SCP-CN-2504: I... I just...
SCP-CN-2504 begins to cry.
SCP-CN-2504: I just thought... you were like me... wanting to go home... I'm sorry... I'm sorry...
Dr. Desiree takes a deep breath.
Dr. Desiree: ...I lost my temper. I'm sorry. Let's end today's interview here.
Dr. Desiree's left hand moves toward the camera switch.

[01:00] SCP-CN-2504 wakes up from bed.
[01:01] Researcher Desiree enters SCP-CN-2504's containment chamber using her own clearance, carrying a box of french fries and fried chicken legs. Researcher Desiree offers her apologies to SCP-CN-2504 and hands the fries to her.
[01:03] The two begin eating.
[01:06] Researcher Desiree looks directly at SCP-CN-2504 and gently touches the spot on her face where she had slapped her earlier. Researcher Desiree then apologizes once more.
[01:06] SCP-CN-2504 shakes her head, then takes a fry from the box and offers it to Researcher Desiree. After a few attempts at declining, Researcher Desiree accepts it.
[01:22] After they finish eating, Researcher Desiree explains certain unknown matters to SCP-CN-2504, presumably pertaining to her future containment protocols.
[01:23] SCP-CN-2504 nods, then hands Researcher Desiree a drawing she had made during her time in containment.
[01:25] Researcher Desiree exits SCP-CN-2504's containment chamber carrying the drawing and the packaging waste from earlier. SCP-CN-2504 waves goodbye.

……
SCP-CN-2504: Desiree, you're here?
Dr. Desiree: Did you even read what I sent you the other day? Stop posting Vocaloid tracks—I have to officially restrict your works if you keep this up.
SCP-CN-2504: What, you're actually going to throttle my music?
Dr. Desiree: Well... I can't just let your cynical content become reality, can I? If it weren't for me knowing someone a lot like you, I'd probably have lost my mind by now.
Dr. Desiree downs her paper cup of coffee in one go.
SCP-CN-2504: So... what did you think of my new song?
Dr. Desiree: It's good. It'd be even better if the lyrics weren't like that. I mean, producers like you who love desaturated black-and-white PVs—I ought to force-feed you some 8900 just to remind you that the world still has good things in it, instead of you all going on about suicide or killing everyone.
SCP-CN-2504: What are you talking about? I'm already reflecting in my lyrics, aren't I?
SCP-CN-2504 rests her elbows on the counter and props her head up.
SCP-CN-2504: If anything, ever since I got involved with your Foundation, my work has been constantly self-reflecting on the nature of "satire"—like "metaphor is ultimately malice toward others," or "denying the divine only makes you a copy of it." See? I'm basically hitting myself with my own boomerangs here—how is that still cynicism toward the world?
Dr. Desiree: Setting that aside, your audience won't care about that nuance. They'll just think you're taking shots at something, then use your lyrics as ammo to attack whatever they want to attack. It doesn't matter how straightforward you write it.
SCP-CN-2504: Then that's not my problem. I just put the work out there—how they interpret it is up to them... Why is the ice cream taking so long?
Dr. Desiree: Seems like among all the divine entities we've come across at the Foundation, you're one of the more restrained ones when it comes to power.
SCP-CN-2504: I'm not omnipotent, you know.
SCP-CN-2504 shrugs, then takes the cup of ice cream handed to her by the server.
SCP-CN-2504: I mean, I can't change how many goals the national team scores.
Both laugh.

SCP-CN-2504: Oh right—how about I draw a character portrait of you?
Dr. Desiree: Huh? No thanks—I don't want to go that deep into the anime aesthetic...
SCP-CN-2504 pulls out her phone and snaps several photos of Researcher Desiree. The flash goes off in Desiree's face.
Dr. Desiree: Hey!
SCP-CN-2504: Hahaha, you don't get a say anymore. I've already decided I'm using these to draw you.
Dr. Desiree: Don't you—
SCP-CN-2504: I know, I know—I'll keep my abilities in check. But I might go up a cup size or something.
Dr. Desiree: Can you not inject your twisted aesthetics into everything?
SCP-CN-2504: Art without a little twist isn't art. So, are all Foundation people this rigid?
Dr. Desiree: ...Let's save that topic for another time.
SCP-CN-2504: Wait, you're leaving already? ...No, the bill! Aren't you paying?! Hey!

SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ3 is the music video for the song Absolute Spectacle Girl, created by SCP-CN-2504. It tells the story of a girl who steps into a society saturated with spectacle, sells her body to satisfy her material desires, and gradually becomes addicted to that very cycle.
From this work onward, the content of SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ began to shift toward an increasingly abstract and obscure style.
[Recording Begins]
Dr. Desiree: Alright... Let's see here—huh?
The footage shows a dimension nearly identical to a real-world city, the only difference being the complete absence of living people.
Dr. Desiree: Why the sudden expansion in scale... Is she starting to write about grand narratives now?
Dr. Desiree: No matter—if it's like the previous works and also contains a "psychological journey," there should be a fragment of memory here as well...
Over half an hour of search footage follows, showing Dr. Desiree unable to locate any corresponding humanoid anomalous entity.
Dr. Desiree: Hmm? Strange... Could it be that the girl in the song is a figurative reference, actually representing every modern individual?
Dr. Desiree: That would make sense... The song itself contains far more abstract elements compared to her earlier works. If the empty shell of the city represents her "thoughts," then...
Dr. Desiree approaches a glass display window and notices that her own reflection matches the protagonist depicted in SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ3.
Dr. Desiree: Just as I thought. But judging from the subject's life history... It seems she didn't have many friends?
Dr. Desiree: She retreated into her own little world due to the desolation of reality, yet her philosophical contemplation brought no tangible improvement to her life... It seems she lacks the integration of knowledge and action.
Dr. Desiree: Well, I've already started by becoming her friend. I'll try to delve deeper into her psyche to help stabilize her emotions—at the very least, I need to reduce her hostility toward the Foundation, and then work on easing her nihilistic tendencies.
Dr. Desiree: Sigh. I'll have to revise the project description later too. Damn it—they labeled her as mentally ill right off the bat. I'm going to tear into them at the next meeting.

……
Yes, yes, I know. What we're containing here is a Class-V reality bender who is emotionally unstable, and there is a risk of her descending into an endless narrative stack like SCP-3812…
But what I object to is this—I do not believe SCP-CN-2504 suffers from a mental illness.
Depression, breakdown, mania… She exhibits these emotions, yes, but she has not yet reached a point of losing control. Moreover, I can only attribute her emotional instability to the fact that reality itself would drive anyone mad—do you realize? Among all the reality benders the Foundation has encountered, those with the power to affect our entire universe who are still willing to live like ordinary people are few and far between. In that regard, she's already done the Foundation a massive favor.
At the very least, we must not provoke her—no, incarceration is absolutely out of the question. We cannot let her perceive any hostility from the Foundation.

SCP-CN-2504-ᚩ9 is a recent music video created by SCP-CN-2504, titled Unable to Part or Unite with You. Unlike her previous works, this song uses oblique means to satirize AI-generated art while also depicting a senior figure she admires but could not be with for various reasons.

Dr. Desiree: Phew... Safe landing.
Dr. Desiree: I'm starting to feel like I've become her personal therapist—but that's fine—what?
The footage shows Dr. Desiree arriving in a gray dimension devoid of anything except for geometric concrete structures interspersed across the ground.
Dr. Desiree: Tch. This means her psychological state hasn't improved at all! What's going on... It can't be that the Foundation is secretly tightening containment measures behind my back, can it?
Dr. Desiree: Hello? Anyone there?
No sound.
Dr. Desiree: Hey?
No sound.
Dr. Desiree: ...Now even interpretation is impossible. A world where nothing exists means she has lost the drive to seek meaning. If this continues, I'm worried something might happen—after all, that nihilistic metanarrative loves to feed on exactly this kind of thing... Ah, found it.
Dr. Desiree discovers a plaster sculpture behind a cylinder. Most details on the face and body are missing, but through certain distinguishing features, it can be identified as an artistically stylized representation of Dr. Desiree's real-life appearance.
Dr. Desiree: So the "senior" she was referring to was me all along. Ah, and she even drew a love umbrella...
Dr. Desiree: Ah. Oh dear... No matter how deep she hides these little feelings, they can't escape a Pataphysics researcher. Wait—she knows the SCP Foundation exists... so she should also know about Pataphysics...
Dr. Desiree: Could she have done this on purpose, knowing I'd find it? I suppose so—that desire to be known while also wanting to hide it—it can only mean—
The footage shows Dr. Desiree touching the statue, but the moment she does, it slowly topples over and crumbles into fine powder upon hitting the ground.
Dr. Desiree frowns at the pile of dust.
Dr. Desiree: ...This kind of sentiment, why doesn't she just write a love song instead?
Dr. Desiree clears her throat lightly.
Dr. Desiree: Never mind... This is something I'll need to, well, think over.

SCP-CN-2504: It's so cold—can't we meet indoors?
Dr. Desiree: This way you stay clear-headed. Here, hot drink.
Dr. Desiree hands a cup of hot coffee to SCP-CN-2504.
SCP-CN-2504: Thank you. If only everyone at the Foundation were like you... So how did the SCP Foundation end up the way it is now?
(*Note: This is the first time the subject voluntarily brings up a topic concerning the existential causality of the Foundation.)
Dr. Desiree: Huh? Well, it all started when the Administrator founded...
SCP-CN-2504 waves her hand, cutting Dr. Desiree off.
SCP-CN-2504: That's not what I meant. I don't want to hear that long, tedious history either—my history teacher back then droned on the same way, and I slept through every class. Besides, I know you recite Foundation history as a safeguard against people like me who can alter causality, to prevent the Foundation's timeline from being rewritten. What I'm talking about is the "Foundation"... Desiree, you're in the Pataphysics Department—you know what I mean.
Dr. Desiree activates the portable reality anchor in her pocket.
Dr. Desiree: Sigh... Fine.
SCP-CN-2504: See? The Foundation calls itself New Weird, but after these six months of dealing with it, I think the SCP Foundation is just a modern disciplinary trap disguised as New Weird agnosticism—because it tries to use modern rules to dissect those "unknowns," those "weird tales."
Dr. Desiree: Do you want a world that never changes...?
SCP-CN-2504: That's not it either. I just don't like the SCP Foundation as it is now. Let me be clear—I didn't create the SCP Foundation. I merely, by accident, provided the catalyst that turned a relatively obscure art statue into a world-famous piece of New Weird fiction.
SCP-CN-2504 sniffs.
SCP-CN-2504: And now the SCP Foundation has grown so vast that it is the rule of modernity itself—"what it is, what it should be"—and it's laid down a whole set of containment protocols and documentation standards, all for the sake of "defeating the weird" in the name of science.
SCP-CN-2504: In that process, the fear of the unknowable has been turned into a memetic vaccine—once injected, you develop a certain resistance to that fear, and you can better embrace the rules of modernity.
Dr. Desiree: So you think... anomalies should just stay "anomalous"?
SCP-CN-2504: Ugh... Not exactly. Let me think...
SCP-CN-2504 tilts her head, thinking.
SCP-CN-2504: I'm generally opposed to "establishing rules from a position of authority"... And if someone could actually see those rules through consistently, that'd be one thing—but most people just use rules as clubs to beat others with, to drive out whatever doesn't suit them. Oh, I think they call that pragmatism—whatever argument serves their interest, that's what they'll spout.
Dr. Desiree: Ah, I get it—the kind of situation where they have it both ways. I've seen that plenty of times.
SCP-CN-2504: I call this "the fragmentation of modernity"—as opposed to that historical "disaster of modernity."
Dr. Desiree: Oh? Go on.
SCP-CN-2504: Simply put, everyone has a voice in constructing the rules—it looks like freedom, but in the end, it reverts to a state where social power reigns supreme. Not to mention that human self-judgment can be falsified—there's a whole field called "applied psychology" for that.
Dr. Desiree: ...I see now. You're a postmodernist. But postmodernism itself exists only on the foundation of modernity—you shouldn't be touching this... especially with your abilities.
SCP-CN-2504: Do I look like I wanted this power? Let me tell you, the reason I resisted containment and destroyed Foundation sites back then was because I realized that this New Weird work I once loved had become part of modern discipline—and it was objectifying beings like us. I couldn't take it anymore, so I started trying to erase the SCP Foundation with my abilities...
Dr. Desiree: Please don't go around destroying large global organizations like the Foundation for reasons like that—I have a hard enough time explaining things to the O5 Council as it is...
SCP-CN-2504: Hehe, I won't do it again. After all, you still work at the Foundation, Desiree. Besides, if the Foundation were gone, we wouldn't have an excuse to go on dates anymore, would we? I really liked that little accessory you gave me for Christmas.
Dr. Desiree: D...dates?
SCP-CN-2504: Huh? Isn't that what this is?
Dr. Desiree clenches her right fist and covers her mouth.
Dr. Desiree: That's a bit... I suppose it counts.
SCP-CN-2504: Aww, Desiree's getting shy. I just meant hanging out like usual—unless...
Dr. Desiree: No!
SCP-CN-2504 slowly moves closer to Dr. Desiree.
SCP-CN-2504: ...Though, if that's what you're thinking, it's not... out of the question.
Dr. Desiree: Huh?
SCP-CN-2504: After all, you're the only one I can talk to about the things I actually care about...
Dr. Desiree: No, I'm a Foundation researcher. This kind of thing—especially this—is not allowed! It's my duty!
SCP-CN-2504: Can't it be outside of work? There's no duty outside of work, right? Geez—I already went ahead and made today your day off.
Dr. Desiree instinctively reaches for the portable reality anchor in her pocket. The anchor is still functioning normally.
Dr. Desiree: Huh? Ah... How many times have I told you, don't use your abilities for this kind of thing...
SCP-CN-2504: Then just stay with me a little longer. My new job only gives me two days off a month—normally you wouldn't even get to see me.
Dr. Desiree: ...Fine. Just for today, as an exception.
Dr. Desiree takes the hand that SCP-CN-2504 has quietly extended toward her, and pulls her scarf with the other hand.
Dr. Desiree: Honestly... You're making me feel things I shouldn't...
SCP-CN-2504: Aww—Desiree's such a tsundere.

Sound of fabric rustling.
Urgent knocking on the door.
Dr. Desiree: I'm coming in.
Unknown Male: Enter.
Sound of door closing.
Dr. Desiree: So... Site Director, what do you need from me?
Unknown Male: I'll be blunt. That divine entity codenamed "Skuld"—you're in charge of containing her, correct?
Dr. Desiree: Yes... correct.
Unknown Male: Orders from above—you are to withdraw your current containment plan and fully contain her before she loses control. The higher-ups believe your current appeasement approach cannot keep her in check.
Dr. Desiree: I... Can I please—
Unknown Male: No. Let me be clear—this order comes from the O5 Council after reviewing your reports. Unless you have sufficient grounds to convince them otherwise.
Dr. Desiree: Site Director, I still have a chance to keep her under control—just give me more time...
Unknown Male: ...Desiree, who's the Site Director here, you or me?
Sound of a cup being set down on a desk.
Unknown Male: You fucking know it yourself—Skuld's abilities have already reached the point where she can create her own pocket dimension! Do I need to print out the O5 directive and paste it on your face for you to see?!
Dr. Desiree: ............No.
Unknown Male: Think it through yourself—what did the SCP Foundation hire you for? Not to fucking play house with a containment subject! When there's a risk of the subject losing control, why wouldn't you use stronger containment methods? Do I need to teach you what the Foundation's mission is here?!
A brief silence.
Unknown Male: ...Can you speak?
Dr. Desiree: ...Yes.
Unknown Male: Then answer me!
Dr. Desiree: Control, contain, protect!
Unknown Male: Go copy the Foundation Employee Handbook. Copy the whole thing and bring it to me!
Dr. Desiree: Yes, sir.
Unknown Male: Also, there are a few reports on static objects—get those to me as well.
Dr. Desiree: Understood.
Sound of door opening.
Unknown Male: What a pain in the ass...
Sound of door closing.
Sound of a woman sobbing.

Brief Description: On 2023/05/██, Site-CN-██ discovered that it had lost all tracking capability for SCP-CN-2504 (i.e., Class-V reality bender "Skuld"). The site immediately reported this to headquarters, and it was classified as a containment breach of the highest threat level.
After 37 hours of continuous searching, Dr. Desiree located a pocket dimension created by SCP-CN-2504 using her reality-altering abilities, hidden within graffiti at a tunnel at 120.█████ E, 31.██████ N. Following the appointment of Researcher Desiree as the negotiator by Foundation headquarters, a Mobile Task Force was dispatched to implement suppression and containment measures against SCP-CN-2504.
Outcome: [DATA EXPUNGED]. The losses incurred by this containment breach are currently under assessment by the Foundation's Ethics Committee and the Major Containment Breach Investigation Committee.
[Recording Begins]
Sound of Kant counters alarming upon entry into the pocket dimension.
Sound of drizzling rain. The footage shows the pocket dimension entered by Desiree displays minimal color and very low saturation, with an impression dominated by black, white, and gray—consistent with the style of the subject's video works.
Dr. Desiree: Completely crafted after the impression of the rainy season—overcast clouds, endless rain, broken walls everywhere, and rain-soaked graffiti. At least it's no longer a world of nothingness...
Dr. Desiree: Skuld! I'm here to see you!
Sound of drizzling rain.
Dr. Desiree: Skuld! Where are you?!
Sound of drizzling rain.
Sound of footsteps splashing through puddles.
Dr. Desiree: Skuld...! I brought your favorite fries!
Sound of footsteps splashing through puddles.
Dr. Desiree: Skuld—what's wrong?
The footage shows the subject hiding under an eave, with signs of having been crying.
SCP-CN-2504: Desiree...?
Dr. Desiree: I never thought you'd be hiding in the tunnel I pass on my way home... Here, have something warm first.
SCP-CN-2504: ...I'm not hungry. I... I'm just tired.
The subject displays unprecedented levels of depression.
SCP-CN-2504: Desiree, tell me—how can there be a reality where everyone's trying so hard, yet there's no hope at all? What's the point of living?
The girl has yet to realize—the answer lies in the other person beneath this umbrella.
Dr. Desiree approaches with her umbrella.
Dr. Desiree: Tell me... What happened? I'm listening.
SCP-CN-2504: I... I feel like living is meaningless.
SCP-CN-2504: I know your Foundation is trying to preserve humanity, and I have the power to accidentally shatter this already fragile world, so you're not wrong to watch over me. At least with your help, Desiree, I can still live like an ordinary person...
SCP-CN-2504: But no one ever told me that living itself is an unbearable kind of pain.
SCP-CN-2504: My boss gave me another scolding because of my work—but they always set targets I can never meet, as if getting scolded is part of the job. My mother has new issues with her spine—she says she doesn't need my money, but I know that in a few years, when she retires, I'll be the only one she can rely on. After all, my parents still see me as just another ordinary person on the street, not some divine girl who can rewrite reality with a wave of her hand.
SCP-CN-2504: I so badly want to use my abilities—if I did, could I change all of this, Desiree?
Dr. Desiree: ...
SCP-CN-2504: ...Actually, I know it wouldn't help. What's the point of rewriting my life into something glamorous? What's the point of walking the path to godhood? In the end, isn't it all just... just! Just meaningless anyway?
SCP-CN-2504: This world will keep tormenting people like me, keep shoving them into the machine of rules, draining our blood to fuel its engine! It deceives every single one of us! Everyone thinks their efforts can become part of some grand narrative, yet before that endless lie, we play Sisyphus, stuck in an absurd cycle of repetition.
SCP-CN-2504: I... Even if I destroyed the SCP Foundation right now, what would it change... I don't know... I...
SCP-CN-2504 buries herself in Dr. Desiree's arms.
SCP-CN-2504: I can't go on... sob... sob...
……
ᛟ10-1: Unit 3, Unit 4—have you reached your positions?
ᛟ10-3: Copy, we're in position.
ᛟ10-4: Copy, in position.
ᛟ10-1: Good work. The sniper rounds you have are custom-made—there are only two in the world, and we have one. Do not fire unless absolutely necessary.
ᛟ10-3: That precious?
ᛟ10-4: I heard the warhead contains a specialized lethal agent developed by Dr. Desiree from the Pataphysics Department—it can erase a living target from the narrative level entirely...
ᛟ10-3: In other words, total nonexistence. Yeah, that's valuable. But I think we should all get a crate of this stuff for dealing with divine entities on a daily basis.
ᛟ10-2: She's right inside there. Maybe ask her if she has a mass-production plan once she comes out.
……
……
SCP-CN-2504: Desiree... I feel a little better after crying in your arms.
Dr. Desiree: ...Good. That's good...
SCP-CN-2504: Desiree... Thank you. I... I want to be by your side, forever and ever.
SCP-CN-2504: It's just... I don't know if we'll ever have that chance. You're a Foundation researcher, and I'm an anomaly that could destroy the world... That's how you see it, isn't it.
Dr. Desiree: I... I don't accept that. But... I...
SCP-CN-2504: What's wrong, Desiree?
Sound of a reality anchor activating.
The pocket reality created by the subject begins to shatter.
Dr. Desiree: ...Duty. You're right—the Foundation's duty.
Dr. Desiree: I'm sorry. I wanted to be your girlfriend too. To be the big sister who stays by your side forever.
The two appear in baseline reality and are immediately surrounded by a pre-positioned Mobile Task Force.
Dr. Desiree: —But I had no choice.
Dr. Desiree's voice begins to choke.
Dr. Desiree: Thank you... Skuld. I'm sorry.
Dr. Desiree: Goodbye.
[03:34:11] Researcher Desiree and the subject appear at the tunnel exit. The Mobile Task Force executes its predetermined plan and surrounds them. The subject displays a look of confusion and shock.
[03:34:14] Kant counters begin alarming; the subject begins reality alteration. The Mobile Task Force swiftly moves to subdue the subject by force.
[03:34:16] The Mobile Task Force units surrounding the subject vanish upon contact with the intense EVE particle oscillation emitted by the subject.
SCP-CN-2504: Desiree, why did you...
Dr. Desiree: —Run!
[03:34:17] The pre-positioned MTF sniper fires at the subject. Simultaneously, Researcher Desiree shoves the subject aside, causing the custom round intended for the subject to strike Researcher Desiree instead.
SCP-CN-2504: —Ah.
RGVzaXJlZQ: Go... run... I...
SCP-CN-2504 cradles the woman lying in a pool of blood.
SCP-CN-2504: Your... your name... what's wrong, don't...
\u7279\u897f\u857e: I... on the narrative level... I'm dying... take this...
The dying woman hands something to SCP-CN-2504.
SCP-CN-2504: No... No! I can save you—it's just rewriting reality... I can do it... Don't, don't die... Desiree... Desiree...
Desiree does not match any existing username: Please... remember... that I... once existed... Go, Skuld...
Desiree does not match any existing username: Live.
The deceased's body disappears.
SCP-CN-2504: ...I will.
SCP-CN-2504 vanishes from the frame.

July. The heavy rain that had just passed could not hold back the summer heat; instead, it only layered the air with humidity.
Skuld parked her motorcycle, holding a bouquet of baby's breath, and came to the place only she knew: fields, utility poles and transformers, asphalt roads, and an old tree by the roadside—a small village she had created, infused with the impression of rural East Asia, based on the hometown Desiree had once spoken of.
Yet even without the harassment of the SCP Foundation or other anomalous organizations, there was still no one here.
Only a small gravestone beneath the old tree.
Skuld gently set the bouquet of baby's breath before the gravestone.
The deafening cry of cicadas rose at just the right moment, and the sultry wind scattered Skuld's shoulder-length hair.
This grave was only a step away from her—just as it had been before she died. A single step had cast Skuld into a hell of life-and-death limbo, a purgatory called "reality," while that fool had vanished without a trace, as though she had never existed in this world at all.
In Skuld's world, she was like the summer breeze—formless, orderless, flowing past Skuld's fingertips, yet carrying away only a scant wisp of heat.
The moment Skuld's hand touched the gravestone, fragments of her and Desiree surged forth unbidden. These memories coursed through Skuld's mind, but she could only watch them as a spectator, viewing them like a film reel in a cinema—for if she didn't, she might inadvertently create an empty shell called "Desiree," a hollow mockery of her beloved.
Because the one resurrected would be nothing more than a puppet parroting memories, a manifold of recollections. Like a mosaic pieced together from shards of glass—it would be her, yet not her.
Skuld closed her eyes. The shallow puddles reflected her figure together with the azure sky.
In the end, her ability was a fantasy others would covet—those who possessed such power always wanted to change the entire world for some purpose.
But she, who questioned this hollow and gaudy reality, had long since lost any conviction "to change anything."
...If not for that one thought.
If.
Just if.
"Desiree, I will find it... a reason to live."
After that, no one remained.
Only the sun, slowly moving toward a visible yet unknown future.
If neither heaven nor hell exists,
then who can judge this ugly and suffering reality?
And yet.
This is the nameless story that belongs only to you and me... the one I hold dear.
